Un asidero porta hielo, caracterizado esencialmente por estar constituido por una cadena, cuerda, cinta o cordón de material plástico o similar en forma cerrada o sin fin, teniendo ensartados en ella dos tubos iguales que sirven de mangos o asideros propiamente dichos, mientras que la cadena o similar formando dos bucles en cada asidero sirve para sostener cualquier trozo de hielo grande o pequeño con toda seguridad y facilidad de transporte, permitiendo además que el mismo sea cubierto por una funda impermeable, para evitar el goteo.
