Abstract
A method for opacifying zones on paper, wherein a liquid impregnating composition is applied to the surface of said paper, said composition including a material such as a thermosetting resin, capable of being deposited as a wet film and capable, moreover, of impregnate the fibers of the paper, improvement comprising providing a resinous type material in said liquid composition, contacting said film with water before the resinous type material hardens, then draining said area contacted with water, to obtain an opaque, substantially insoluble zone, and, after this, repeating a sufficient number of successive contacts with water and drying steps, to obtain a desired opaque zone, wherein said resin has a plurality of opacification interfaces.
