Abstract

A sprayable, single phase pesticidal composition which is anhydrous or contains up to 5% by weight of water comprises a pesticidal substance chosen from liquid organic phosphorus compound (such as malathion, parathion, fenitrothion or ethion), DDT, lindane, tetradifon, tetrasul, carbaryl, esters of 2,4- dichlorophenoxy acetic acid or 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy acetic acid with alcohols having 8 or more carbon atoms, and esters of 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid or 2,4,5-tri-chlorophenoxy acetic acid with volatile alcohols having up to 8 carbon atoms dissolved in a fatty oil or a derivative thereof (as defined), whereby, the solution has a viscosity of 5-50 c.p. Suitable oils specified are castor oil, sulphonated castor oil and rapeseed oil. An auxiliary solvent may also be present
