Abstract
Uranium hexafluoride is separated from a vaporous mixture of uranium hexafluoride, plutonium hexafluoride, and fission product fluorides by selective reduction of PuF 6 to PuF 4 with CO 2 at 150-500 C. and a pressure of 0À5 to 4 bars (see Division G6). Solid PuF 4 is removed and the remaining vapours (including UF 6 ) and condensed and separated by distillation.
