Abstract
A metal container 2, e.g. of Mo or of Y coated on its inner surfaces with Mo, is provided with a plug 3, the plug and container both being coated with a ceramic glaze 4 having an expansion coefficient of about 6. 10-6 (see Division C1). The plug is sealed into the closed position by local fusion of the glaze, e.g. by H-F induction heating. The can may be used for moderator fuel elements (see Division G6).
