Abstract

An incandescent lamp of the regenerative cycle type comprises a bulb having one or more external current supply members formed from thin sheet metal and clamped to the seal or seals of the bulb, at least one of the members supporting a screen which surrounds part of the circumference of the bulb. As shown, the members 7, 8 are made from folded metal sheets which are clamped to the ridged edges of the seal 4 by means of peripheral portions 7a, 8a, and the member 8 has a prolongation 15 supporting arcuate strips 16 constituting the screen. The strips may have flanges 17, 18 and may be of different sizes. In one modification the screen 16 and the member 8 are initially separate parts, the screen being soldered to the member after the latter has been clamped to the seal and the screen has been aligned with the filament 1. The screen may have an extension covering the end of the bulb. In a further modification the screen consists of two overlapping portions integral with the respective members 7, 8.
