Abstract

Process for ultra-whitening chemical wood or semi-chemical pulp, primarily bleached, characterized in that it comprises treating the pulp, in an aqueous system, with hydrogen peroxide in an amount of 0.01 to 0.5% by weight and N-benzoyl succinimide in the amount of 0.01 to 3% by weight, based on the dry weight of said paste, to a pulp consistency of 2 to 85 by weight and still ph of the order of 2.5 to 9.5, the treatment temperature being from 23.8ºC to 100ºC and the treatment duration from 15 minutes to 16 hours.
