Improvements in the processes for the demineralization of a liquid solution, by phase separation, in which the raw liquid solution is heated to the phase separation temperature at a first pressure by passing the liquid solution in heat exchange relation with a first fluid in gas form and then with a second fluid, producing a hot fraction substantially demineralized at said first pressure, characterized by comprising: raising the pressure of said substantially demineralized hot fraction to a second pressure, passing it in heat exchange ratio with said second fluid to heat the fluid and cool the demineralized fraction, raise again the pressure of said demineralized fraction to a third pressure, raise the pressure of said gas to said third pressure, pass the demineralized fraction in heat exchange ratio with said gas to cool off from new said demineralized fraction and heat said gas, lower the pressure of said gas, pass said gas in heat exchange relation with the crude liquid solution and use the excess work generated by the pressure drop of said gas when it is hot on the spent one in raising the pressure of said gas when it is cold to mechanically pump or compress fluids from the process.
