Abstract

An absorbent body is provided for absorbing body fluids. The body is generally planar and elongated and is surrounded by a peripheral edge. A portion of the edge is densified so that fluid striking the absorbent body at a point in proximity to the densfied peripheral edge will be transported rapidly away from said point.
