Abstract

Batea para el engorde de moluscos, especialmente almejas, caracterizada porque comprende un cuerpo principal hueco que cumple la función de flotador, en cuya pared básica inferior se fijan los extremos correspondientes de unas cuerdas en las que se acoplan ajustadamente unos cestos, a través de un taladro central, de forma que los cestos quedan en sentido vertical; en el interior de cada uno de los cestos se dispone una capa de arena en el interior de la cual se disponen convenientemente una cantidad de crías; y porque por encima de la capa de arena, el cesto presenta en su superficie lateral unos taladros o aberturas que facilitan la entrada y salida del agua por medio de la cual las crías se alimentan del plancton.
