Abstract

A filter basket for a suction cleaner, the basket being intended to accommodate a paper filter bag, comprises an inner part (5) and an outer part (6), the inner part being displaceable within the outer part so that the filter basket can be transported in a telescoped condition. Latching means (7, 8) are provided to latch the inner part to the outer part in at least one position of relative displacement between the two parts, with the inner part more or less extended from the outer part when the basket is in use. The different positions enable the effective length of the basket to be adjusted to fit different models of cleaner.
