Abstract
A method of producing a crude carbonaceous bar of rectangular cross section having sheets arranged in a plurality of overlapping planes, a large percentage of which are essentially mutually parallel, comprising expelling a mixture of binder and carbonaceous particles in a substantially platelets through an ejection die having a substantially rectangular inlet and a substantially rectangular outlet, with one dimension of the inlet being substantially the same as the corresponding dimension of the outlet, the other dimension of the inlet being from about 2 to about 5 times greater than the corresponding dimension of the outlet, said row having 2 substantially parallel walls and 2 converging walls that are intended to compress the mixture as it passes between them from the inlet to the outlet.
