Abstract

Previous technical and technical field

The present invention relates to the field of security.

The present invention relates more particularly to an anti-theft security system for garage doors. One of the objectives of the present invention is to provide a system that limits, even suppresses, the risks of intrusion for garage theft.

A broad definition of what is meant by garage will be given here. The person skilled in the art will understand here that it can be a hangar, a warehouse of goods or any other type of building, accessible by a door, in which objects (one or more vehicles, material, etc.) can be stored. ).

Several types of garage doors are known.

In the context of the present invention, interest will be taken more specifically for doors that open vertically or that open horizontally (without the function of screwing the anti-theft onto the door).

Usually, said doors open from a lowered position, in which the garage is closed, to an elevated position, in which the garage is accessible. These operations can obviously be performed in reverse to close the garage.

Among these vertical opening doors, there are mainly:

- the doors called swingarms (with or without water outlets or water drains),

- doors called sectional, or also

- the winding doors.

Theft intrusions in garages are becoming more frequent, mainly in residential areas. These intrusions are primarily aimed at vehicle theft.

To access the garage, it is usually enough for the criminals to tear the door off by forcing it to swing the door or even hitting it, for example with a vehicle called a ram.

To avoid, or at least limit, the risks associated with these intrusions, an anti-theft security system for a garage door known as " Garage Defender", marketed by MASTER LOCK®, is already known.

Such a system is intended exclusively for overhead garage doors.

Technically, this system includes:

- an interlocking plate (base) that is fixed on the ground, preferably on a concrete pavement, thanks to safety screws, and

- a stop, fixed in a solidary manner on the plate, which is intended to press against the door so as to offer resistance when a force is applied in the opening direction, that is, when the door is tilted to open it .

Thanks to this stop, it is impossible to open the door by starting.

However, the applicant states that with such a system it is possible to force the opening of the door, for example by exerting a force in the opposite direction to the opening direction. One thinks, for example, of the use of a water vehicle.

The applicant also observes that such a system is not adapted for sectional doors or winding doors.

The applicant further observes that the use of such a system is particularly annoying insofar as it is necessary to fix the stop on the plate to prevent opening.

On the practical level, it can therefore be considered that the system proposed here is almost used only when the owner leaves for a prolonged period and in which he wants to secure his garage during his absence: the application of the « Garage Defender » system seems too obligatory or forced for a systematic and daily use.

It is also known from GB 2253436 A, a security system for a tilting door. One such security system comprises a steel support with a protruding joint intended to pass through a slot in a garage door, practiced at a point where it is reinforced by plates bolted to one and another part of the door. When closing the door, the projecting union crosses the groove and allows to be able to fix a padlock on the outside of the door in order to prevent the opening of the door.

It is finally known, from US 4765 664 A, an anchor bolt comprising a sleeve that can be anchored in the ground in front of the door, and a rod with a tongue at its upper end, received in the sleeve. The tongue is intended to be received in a slot in a plate, fixed at the bottom of the door. A padlock can then be placed in a hole made in the tongue of the rod in order to prevent untimely opening of the door. A pin arranged in the rod, which cooperates with a groove in the sleeve, prevents the removal of the pin rod.

Object and compendium of the present invention

The present invention aims to improve the situation described above.

One of the objects of the present invention is to remedy the different drawbacks mentioned above by proposing a security system for the garage door, adaptable to all types of doors, which is both easy to use and easy to install and that allows limit, even suppress, all types of garage intrusion.

To this end, the object of the present invention relates, according to a first aspect, to an anti-theft security system for garage doors intended to open vertically from a lowered position, in which the garage is closed, to an elevated position, in which the garage is accessible (and vice versa).

According to the present invention the system comprises:

- a main body intended to be fixed in solidarity in a medium area of the lower edge of the door, and

- a base intended to be fixed to the ground.

According to the invention, the main body and the base are facing each other.

In this way, when the door is lowered, the main body contacts the base.

According to the invention, the main body and the base respectively comprise first and second coupling means.

These coupling means are capable of cooperating together so that, in the lowered position, the main body and the base jointly engage with each other to prevent the door from opening.

According to the invention, the main body comprises a stop called exterior which is intended to be in contact (direct or indirect) with the exterior face of the garage door; and said system further comprises two lateral stops called interiors that are intended to be fixedly attached to the floor inside said garage, to one and another part of the outer stop.

According to the invention, the system is configured to suit the safety of a sectional garage door and a tilting garage door.

Thus, thanks to this combination of technical means, characteristic of the present invention, a user-friendly system is available: having a part of the system (here the main body) directly fixed to the lower edge of the door allows avoid systematic installation and uninstallation of the stop as can be found in the « Garage Defender » system.

With a solidary main body of the door, it is enough for the user to lower their garage door to approximate the main body to the base.

For this pairing, the coupling means will be able, in the lowered position, to cooperate together in order to engage in solidarity with each other, which allows the garage to be secured.

It will be noted here that, thanks to the invention, it is no longer necessary to provide, after the door is closed, the positioning of a stop by fixing this on the plate to the ground, as is the case of a " Garage Defender".

In the opposite direction, that is, during the opening of the door, it is sufficient that the user decouple the coupling means from one another to allow the garage door to be lifted.

In the same way, the operations to lift the door are much less obligatory here than with the « Garage Defender », since it is necessary to remove the stop, as well as its storage.

According to optional technical characteristics of the invention, taken alone or in combination:

- the first coupling means comprise an opening made in the main body, and the second coupling means comprises an engagement ring; in this case, when the door is in the lowered position, the engagement ring is able to pass through the opening in a way that allows the passage of a padlock through the engagement ring to lock the door in the lowered position;

- the hitch ring has an annular section of the lateral section to favor the passage of the padlock;

- the base is fixed to the ground by means of fixing screws, the main body, in a lowered position, forming a closed drawer that makes access to said screws impossible;

- the main body comprises, on both sides of the opening, projecting protection fins.

The present invention relates, according to a second aspect, to a use of an anti-theft security system such as the one described above for a swinging garage door.

The present invention relates, according to a third aspect, to a use of an anti-theft security system such as the one described above for sectional garage doors.

Finally, the present invention relates, according to a fourth aspect, to an anti-theft equipment (kit) for garage doors, comprising:

- an anti-theft security system as described above, and

- A lock.

Detailed description of an advantageous embodiment example

An anti-theft security system according to an advantageous embodiment example will now be described with reference to Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4 together.

To remind you, one of the objectives of the present invention is to propose an easy-to-use anti-theft system, which improves security and can be adapted to all types of garage doors intended to open vertically.

This is made possible by the present invention, of which an exemplary embodiment will be described below.

The example described here refers to a garage that has a PG door called a tilting door.

It will be understood that this example is merely illustrative and in no case presents a limiting character. The person skilled in the art will understand, in effect, that the system 100 according to the invention can be used for any type of garage door intended to open vertically.

In this example, the system 100 is mainly composed of a base 20 and a main body 10.

This base 20 is presented here in the form of a metal plate that is fixed to the floor S.

Preferably, it can be provided that the floor S is constituted by a concrete pavement.

In the example described herein, the base 20 is therefore anchored in the concrete by means of fixing screws V.

It will be understood here that other embodiments are contemplated.

As for the main body 10, it is fixed directly or indirectly to the garage door PG.

In this example, it is envisioned that the main body 10 is fixed at the level of the lower edge PGa of the garage door PG, preferably at the level of the median zone Z of this edge.

In the example described here, it is envisioned that the main body 10 and the base 20 approach each other when the door Pg is lowered (down position P1 illustrated in Figure 1).

It will be understood here that, according to the invention, these two elements 10 and 20 are therefore facing each other. In order to secure the PG door, it is provided, according to the invention, that the main body 10 and the base 20 each have coupling means, respectively 11 and 21, suitable for cooperating together.

These means 11 and 21 are therefore provided to cooperate together so as to engage in solidarity with one another so that they block the door P ^g when it is in the lowered position P1.

In this example, the first coupling means 11 consists mainly of an opening 11a made in the body 10, and the second coupling means 21 consists of a coupling ring 21a.

According to the invention, when the door PG is lowered to the lowered position P1, the engagement ring 21a is inserted into the opening 11a and exceeds the opening 11a of said body 10 to allow the positioning of a padlock 110 in the ring 21a.

As illustrated in the figures, the base 20 can be presented in the form of a metal plate whose lower face is supported on the ground, the ring 21a being integral projecting from the upper face of the metal plate. This base 20 can be fixed to the ground thanks to fixing screws that pass through openings in the metal plate. Preferably, padlock 110 is of the " Diskus " type.

Preferably, it may be provided that the ring 21a has an annular cross-section, which will facilitate the positioning of the padlock 110 whatever the angle of attack with which the padlock is intended to be introduced.

Therefore, it will be sufficient for the user of the system to lower the PG door to position P1 after having provided a padlock 110, as proposed above, to insert it into the engagement ring 21a in order to lock the PG door in this P1 position.

The main body 10 may comprise a flat bottom wall 14, through which the opening 11a intended to be traversed by the ring 21a is made. When the door is in the lowered position P1, this lower wall 14 is supported by its lower face on the upper face of the metal plate of the base 20, then crossing the ring 21a the opening 11a and passing this opening 11a.

This example of coupling means 11 and 21 is a possible example among others. The person skilled in the art may select other means that allow such a coupling.

It will be noted here that, according to the invention and as illustrated in Figure 3, the main body 10 comprises a stop 12 called an exterior.

This outer stop 12 is in contact (direct or indirect) with the outer face of the door PG. The outer stop 12 may consist of a profile 120, in particular of square section, intended to extend longitudinally parallel to the lower wall 14 of the main body 10. Plugs 15 preferably seal the two openings respectively at the ends of the profile 120. of the flat side faces of the square section profile 120 is intended to contact the garage door PG: this flat face that contacts the door is substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall 14 of the main body 10.

The main body 10 can be fixed to the garage door PG by means of fixing devices such as screws V between the outer stop 12 and the garage door PG: openings 121 are provided for this purpose in the profile 120 of square section, in particular in the proximity of these two longitudinal ends. Each fixing member, such as a screw V, is inserted through a first opening in the side wall of the square section profile in contact with the garage door, as well as through a second opening, coaxial with the first opening , which crosses the flat side wall of the square section profile, located opposite the contact wall. Thus, to the extent that, in the lowered position P1, the body 10 is coupled to the ground S through the base 20, the outer stop 12 will serve as a stop and will prevent an individual from forcing the opening of The door trying to pull this one out.

This stop 12 exerts an antagonistic force in case of starting, as illustrated in Figure 3.

According to the invention, the positioning of stops called interiors, indicated with 31 and 32, is also provided. These stops, illustrated in Figure 1, are here fixed to the floor S inside the garage.

It will be understood here that these stops 31 and 32 improve the security of the PG garage door by consolidating its reinforcement.

Said stops 31 and 32 will limit, for example, the risks linked to an intrusion into the garage by a ram car exerting an antagonistic force. Each lower stop 31 or 32 may consist of a square section profile. Plugs 15 preferably seal the two openings respectively at the two ends of the profile of the inner stop. The profile is fixed to the floor inside the garage, the longitudinal geometric axis of the profile being substantially parallel to the garage door in its lowered position P1, one of the four lateral faces of the profile resting on the floor S.

The fixing of each stop 31 or 32 to the ground can be obtained by means of fixing organs that cross the square section profile, from its upper lateral face. Each fixing member, such as a screw V, is inserted through a first opening in the upper side wall of the square section profile, as well as through a second opening, coaxial with the first opening, which crosses the side wall flat profile square section in contact with the ground.

The base 20 is fixed to the ground by means of fixing screws V that pass through openings in the base metal plate. Advantageously, the main body 10 can form, in the lowered position P1, a closed drawer that makes access to said screws impossible. Advantageously, the main body 10 may comprise, on either side of the opening 11a, protruding protection fins 13 and 13 '. It can be seen in the figures that the protection fins 13, 13 'extend laterally to the lower wall 14 having the opening 11a, and are arranged to both sides of said opening 11a. It is noted that the lower wall 14, as well as the fins 13 and 13 ', are constituted by the same sheet folded in U to form the lower wall 14, as well as the lateral fins 13 and 13' in projection.

The outer stop 12 is a tubular profile 120 mainly of square section, fixed in particular by welding to fins 13 and 13 ', transversely to fins 13 and 13', at its top, at the level of the rear edge 142 of the bottom wall 14. The tubular profile of the stop 12 extends transversely to the fins 13, 13, laterally passing the two fins 13 and 13 ', to one and another part of the opening 11a.

A cover 16 extends from the leading edge 141 of the lower wall 14 continuously between the two fins 13 and 13 ', to the bottom of the intermediate stop section between the fins 13 and 13', located at the level of the rear edge 142 of the lower wall 14. The upper part of the fins 13, 13 'is protruding from the cover 16. The walls of the cover 16 and of the fins 13 and 13' form with the lower wall 14 of the main body 10 the aforementioned closed drawer that makes access to said screws V impossible, when the main body is supported by its lower face 14 on the upper surface of the metal plate of the base 20. It is still seen in Figure 2 that, in this position, the ring 21a that crosses the opening 11a of the lower wall 14 is housed in the inner volume of the drawer.

An opening 11b, particularly obliquely, on the cover 16, allows the insertion of the body of the padlock, housed in the opening 11, the padlock handle being inside the drawer. During the interlocking, the handle of the padlock passes through the inner ring 21 to the drawer. It is still observed that the opening 11b is sized to be able to insert the body of the padlock 110, the latter partially protruding in the vertical direction through the opening 11b. The projecting walls of the fins 13 and 13 'and the upper wall of the cover 16 advantageously form between them a cavity that protects the part of the padlock that protrudes through the opening 11b, mainly against mace blows.

Thus, due to its structure, the present invention offers a simple solution to install and use to improve the security of the garage and limit the risks of intrusion for theft in the garage.

The presence of such a system visible from the outside will also constitute a brake that can deter an evildoer from entering the garage. It can also be installed inside a garage if this It has another access. On the contrary, the « Garage Defender » model has no use inside.

The eventual fixing of the main body to the lower edge PGa of the garage door is carried out by means of fixing elements, such as screws, which pass through openings 121 of the tubular profile 120: in the figures, it is observed that two openings 121 are provided in the two parts of the tubular profile that externally exceed the fins 13, 13 '.

A cover 16 extends from the leading edge 141 of the lower wall 14 continuously between the two fins 13 and 13 ', to the bottom of the intermediate stop section between the two fins 13 and 13', located at the level of the rear edge 142 of the lower wall 14.

The walls of the cover 16 and of the fins 13 and 13 'form with the lower wall 14 of the main body 10 a closed drawer that makes access to said screws V impossible, when the main body is supported by its lower face 14 on the upper face of the metal plate of the base 20. It is then seen in Figure 2 that, in this position, the ring 21a that crosses the opening 11a of the lower wall 14 is housed in the inner volume of the drawer.

An oblong opening 11b on the cover allows the insertion of the body of the "Diskus" type lock , housed in the opening 11, the handle of the padlock being inside the drawer.
