Antecedentes
La protección de los cultivos de malas hierbas y otra vegetación que inhibe el crecimiento de los cultivos es un problema que se repite constantemente en la agricultura. Para ayudar a combatir este problema, los investigadores en el campo de la química sintética han producido una amplia variedad de productos químicos y formulaciones químicas eficaces en el control de tal crecimiento no deseado. El documento AU 2011204809 se refiere a una composición herbicida que comprende sulfentrazona e imazapir; el documento US 2009/156401 se refiere a una composición herbicida que comprende sulfentrazona y quinclorac; el documento US 2004/266623 describe una composición herbicida que comprende sulfentrazona, quinclorac y 2,4-D (o MCPA); el documento US 2010/292082 se refiere a una composición herbicida que comprende sulfentrazona y metsulfuron metilo; el documento US 2011/312494 se refiere a una composición herbicida que comprende propizamida y aminopiralid; GRICHAR, W.:"Use of Sulfentrazone in a Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) Herbicide Program.”, THE TEXAS JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES, vol. 19, 2006, pág. 72-79, XP055217909, describe una composición herbicida que comprende sulfentrazona y etalfluralin.
Sin embargo, sigue existiendo la necesidad de composiciones y métodos adicionales y mejorados que sean eficaces en el control de la vegetación no deseable.

El compuesto de fórmula (I) se puede identificar por el nombre de Chemical Abstracts Services (CAS) N-[2,4-dicloro- 5-[4-(difluorometil)-4,5-dihidro-3-metil-5-oxo-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-il]fenil]metanosulfonamida y por el nombre común sulfentrazona. Los usos ilustrativos del compuesto de fórmula (I) incluyen controlar malas hierbas de hoja ancha anuales y algunas gramíneas en garbanzos, guisantes, lino y girasoles. Se aplica en pre-emergencia (pRe) o se incorpora previamente a la planta (PPI).

El compuesto de fórmula (II) se puede identificar por el nombre CAS 3,5-dicloro-N-(1,1-dimetil-2-propin-1-il) benzamida y con el nombre común propizamida. La propizamida está registrada para el uso a finales de otoño y principios de primavera para controlar malas hierbas en alfalfa, trébol, legumbres, canola, colza oleaginosa, árboles y vides, lechuga, pastos establecidos y algunos cultivos ornamentales y hortícolas para el control de pastos y malas hierbas de hoja ancha.

Además, en algunas realizaciones, la combinación de compuesto (I) y compuesto (II) muestran sinergismo, es decir, los ingredientes activos herbicidas son más eficaces combinados que cuando se aplican individualmente. Los compuestos muestran actividad herbicida cuando se aplican directamente a la planta o al lugar de la planta en cualquier fase de crecimiento. Las composiciones y métodos descritos en la presente memoria se utilizan para controlar la vegetación no deseable en cultivos tolerantes al glifosato, tolerantes al glufosinato, tolerantes a dicamba, tolerantes a fenoxi auxina, tolerantes a piridiloxi auxina, tolerantes a ariloxifenoxipropionato, tolerantes al inhibidor de acetil CoA carboxilasa (ACCasa), tolerantes a imidazolinona, tolerantes al inhibidor de la acetolactato sintasa (ALS), tolerantes al inhibidor de la 4-hidroxifenil-piruvato dioxigenasa (HPPD), tolerantes al inhibidor de la protoporfirinógeno oxidasa (PPO), tolerante a triazina y tolerante al bromoxinilo (tales como, pero no limitados a, cultivos de legumbres, soja, algodón, canola/colza oleaginosa, cereales, maíz, césped, etc.), por ejemplo, junto con glifosato, glufosinato, dicamba, fenoxi auxinas, piridiloxi auxinas, ariloxifenoxipropionatos, inhibidores de ACCasa, imidazolinonas, inhibidores de ALS , inhibidores de la HPPD, inhibidores de la PPO, triazinas y bromoxinilo. Otros aditivos ilustrativos para uso en las composiciones proporcionadas en la presente memoria incluyen, pero no se limitan a, agentes compatibilizantes, agentes antiespumantes, agentes secuestrantes, agentes neutralizantes y tampones, inhibidores de corrosión, colorantes, odorantes, agentes esparcidores, adyuvantes de penetración, agentes adherentes, agentes dispersantes, agentes espesantes, depresores del punto de congelación, agentes antimicrobianos y similares. En algunas realizaciones, la concentración de los ingredientes activos en las composiciones descritas en la presente memoria es de aproximadamente 0,0005 a 98 por ciento en peso. En algunas realizaciones, la concentración es de aproximadamente 0,0006 a 90 por ciento en peso. En composiciones diseñadas para emplearse como productos concentrados, los ingredientes activos, en ciertas realizaciones, están presentes en una concentración de aproximadamente 0,1 a 98 por ciento en peso, y en ciertas realizaciones de aproximadamente 0,5 a 90 por ciento en peso. Tales composiciones se diluyen, en ciertas realizaciones, con un portador inerte, tal como agua, antes de la aplicación. Ejemplos
Evaluación de la Actividad Herbicida de Mezclas en Condiciones de Campo Metodología
Estos ensayos se realizaron en condiciones de campo en el oeste de Canadá. Los ensayos se diseñaron como diseños factoriales de bloques divididos con temporización (primavera vs. otoño), tasa de Authority 480 (sulfentrazona) (0,52 o 105 g ia/ha), tasa de Kerb ™ SC (propizamida) (0,450 o 900 g ia/ha) como los factores principales y la aplicación Edge ™ Granular (etalfluralina) (0 o 1100 g ia/ha) como el factor de bloque dividido (no se muestran los datos para la aplicación adicional de etalfluralina). Edge ™ se aplicó a las parcelas de prueba a una velocidad de 1100 g ia/ha utilizando un aplicador granular en el otoño de 2011 (del 17 de octubre al 9 de noviembre). Los tratamientos Authority 480 y Kerb ™ SC se aplicaron a las parcelas de prueba en el otoño anterior o posterior a la aplicación de Edge ™ (del 17 de octubre al 3 de noviembre) o en la primavera de 2012 (del 24 de abril al 5 de mayo). Evaluación
Las parcelas tratadas y las parcelas de control se clasificaron como ciegas en varios intervalos después de la aplicación. Las calificaciones se basaron en el porcentaje de control visual de malas hierbas (%), donde 0 corresponde a ninguna lesión y 100 corresponde a la destrucción completa.
Los datos se recopilaron para todos los ensayos y se analizaron mediante diversos métodos estadísticos.

- 9. El método de la reivindicación 6, en donde (a) y (b) se aplican en pre-emergencia o se incorporan previamente a la planta de la vegetación no deseable o cultivo o se aplican después de la emergencia a la vegetación no deseable o cultivo.
- 10. El método de la reivindicación 6, en donde la vegetación no deseable se controla en un cultivo tolerante a 5 glifosato, glufosinato, dicamba, fenoxi auxina, piridiloxi auxina, ariloxifenoxipropionato, inhibidor de acetil CoAcarboxilasa (ACCasa), imidazolinona, inhibidor de acetolactato sintasa (ALS), inhibidor de la 4-hidroxifenil-piruvato dioxigenasa (HPPD), inhibidor de la protoporfirinógeno oxidasa (PPO), triazina o bromoxinilo, en donde el cultivo tolerante posee, preferiblemente, rasgos múltiples o mixtos que confieren tolerancia a múltiples herbicidas o inhibidores de múltiples modos de acción.10 11. El método de la reivindicación 6, en donde la vegetación no deseable comprende una mala hierba resistente otolerante a herbicida, en donde la hierba resistente o tolerante es una biotipo resistente o tolerante a los inhibidores de acetolactato sintasa (ALS), inhibidores del fotosistema II, inhibidores de acetil CoA carboxilasa (ACCasa), auxinas sintéticas, inhibidores del fotosistema I, inhibidores de la 5-enolpiruvilshikimato-3-fosfato (EPSP) sintasa, inhibidores del ensamblaje de microtúbulos, inhibidores de la síntesis de lípidos, inhibidores de la protoporfininógeno oxidasa 15 (PPO), inhibidores de la biosíntesis de carotenoides, inhibidores del ácidos grasos de cadena muy larga (VLCFA) , inhibidores de la fitoeno desaturasa (PDS), inhibidores de la glutamina sintetasa, inhibidores de la 4-hidroxifenil- piruvato-dioxigenasa (HPPD), inhibidores de la mitosis, inhibidores de la biosíntesis de la celulosa, herbicidas con múltiples modos de acción, quinclorac, ácidos arilaminopropionicos, difenzoquat, endotal u organoarsénicos.
- 12. El método de la reivindicación 11, en donde la mala hierba resistente o tolerante es un biotipo con resistencia o 20 tolerancia a múltiples herbicidas, múltiples clases de productos químicos o inhibidores de múltiples modos de acción de herbicidas.
