OBJETO DE LA INVENCIONOBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention relates to a device and its method for the detection of anomalous behavior in horses, which are resting in a stable.
More specifically, from a first type of anomalous behavior of the horse, this device diagnoses prematurely the equine colic. Additionally, from a second type of anomalous behavior, this device determines the blocking 15 of the horse in the stable, that is, determining the situation in which the horse lies in the stable and is blocked against at least one of its walls, and therefore cannot stand up by itself.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIONBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently, in Spain alone there are more than 175,000 equestrian farms, such as horse riding clubs, with more than 700,000 horses in their facilities, it is common for horses to rest in individual stables, where they are protected from inclement weather and sleep. These horses are mainly destined for leisure activities, or for sports activities, such as racing or obstacle jumping, including their participation in competitions both nationally and internationally.
At present, the equestrian sector has an important impact on the global economy. However, one of its biggest problems is the high number of deaths of horses due to the horse colic. Specifically, the equine colic is an acute pain in the digestive system that is caused by an obstruction of the same, and that can result in the death of the animal.
Currently, for the diagnosis of the equine colic, veterinarians are required to visit the horses and check the presence of the symptoms of this disease in the animal, such as an anomalous behavior. Specifically this anomalous behavior can be, among others, that the horse is very uneasy and that it lies down and rises repeatedly. Once any of the symptoms has been detected, veterinarians must perform the corresponding tests to determine the treatment of the horse, that is, the use of drugs or surgical intervention, depending on the stage in which the disease is found.
De este modo, aumentan las probabilidades de requerir una intervencion quirurgica, asi como las opciones de fallecimiento del caballo.10 Due to the visual detection of the symptoms of equine colic, by veterinarians, it is common for their diagnosis to be made in advanced stages of the disease, and therefore the treatment of colic is complicated. In this way, they increase the chances of requiring surgical intervention, as well as the horse's death options.
15fifteen
More specifically, according to the data provided by the insurance companies in Spain there are more than 800 equine colicos per month, of which about 240 result in the need for high-cost surgical intervention, and about 160 horses die monthly due to the equine colic.
20twenty
While 20% of horses, diagnosed with colic, die including horses that did not pass the surgical intervention. Because of this, the equine colic produces a great negative impact
25 en el sector ecuestre.25 in the equestrian sector.
Concretamente, cuando el caballo se tumba en la caballeriza, cerca de una pared o unaAnother important problem of the equestrian sector is that caused by another type of anomalous behavior of horses that rest in scalps. Specifically, when the horse is lying in the stable, near a wall or a
Actualmente, la unica forma de detectar este30 corner, can be blocked against it and therefore when you try to get up, you can not do it by yourself. This is because to get up they require large areas free of obstacles. This situation causes stress and is dangerous for the animal, since many cases are known in which the blocked horses have injured limbs when trying to get up. Currently, the only way to detect this
The problem is through the visual supervision of the person in charge of the equine exploitation or the owner of the horse, and therefore, depending on the equine exploitation, the horse can spend hours in said situation before being found.

The control unit comprises a data storage module, to store the activity log of the horse that registers the camera.
Preferably, the recording camera is comprised in said body.
Optionally, due to the varied dimensions of each stable, the device for detecting anomalous behavior comprises at least one additional infrared barrier that would also be installed inside the stable. More specifically, this additional barrier allows detecting the position, lying or standing, of the horse in the possible blind areas of detection of the barrier described above. este permanece en dicho estado, this remains in that state,
- activar el sensor de movimiento preferiblemente cuando la unidad de control determine que el caballo este tumbado,- activate the motion sensor preferably when the control unit determines that the horse is lying down,
- transmitir a la unidad de control la informacion del sensor de movimiento,- transmit the motion sensor information to the control unit,
- determinar, mediante la unidad de control y a partir de la informacion del sensor de movimiento, el movimiento del caballo,- determine, by means of the control unit and from the information of the motion sensor, the movement of the horse,
- determinar, mediante la unidad de control y a partir de la informacion recibida del sensor de movimiento y de la barrera de infrarrojos, un comportamiento anomalo del caballo, y- determine, by means of the control unit and from the information received from the motion sensor and the infrared barrier, an abnormal behavior of the horse, and
- avisar, mediante la unidad de control, del comportamiento anomalo del caballo.- warn, through the control unit, of the anomalous behavior of the horse.
Specifically, the sensor and the barrier are usually included in the body. Its positioning in the stable is done manually on the inside surface of a wall, or corner, of said stable where the horse rests. The motion sensor is preferably positioned between 170 cm and 265 cm with respect to the floor of the riding stable, while the infrared barrier is preferably positioned between 110 cm and 170 cm also with respect to the floor of the riding stable.
Preferably, the motion sensor is activated when the control unit determines that the horse is lying, while the infrared barrier is usually active, and therefore always checks if the horse is lying or standing.
If the control unit determines that the horse is lying for more than 20 minutes without presenting an anomalous behavior, it is considered that the horse is healthy and therefore the person responsible for it is not notified. Additionally, in this situation the control unit restarts the values that it has previously determined, based on the information of the motion sensor and the infrared barrier, and replaces them with new values that it determines in the next 20 minutes. These new values are also determined from the information of the sensor and the barrier. In this way, the horse's behavior is determined constantly and false alarms are avoided.
Sin embargo, si la unidad de control determina que el numero de repeticiones en que elHowever, if the control unit determines that the number of repetitions in which the
Esta notification se realiza mediante el puerto de comunicacion, tipo de conexion a internet, comprendido en la unidad de control.horse gets up, and / or lies down, is equal to or greater than 3 in a period equal to or less than 10 minutes and that while lying down is constantly moving, it is considered a first type of anomalous behavior. Specifically, it is considered that there is a risk of horse colic, and such situation is notified, preferably the person responsible for the horse is notified by a telephone call, a text message, an email or a combination of the above options. This notification is made through the communication port, type of internet connection, included in the control unit.
Esta notificacion se realiza mediante el puerto de conexion a internet de la unidad de control.10 Finally, if the control unit determines that the horse is lying and that it is constantly moving, it is considered a second type of anomalous behavior. Specifically, it is considered that the horse is lying and may be locked against a wall of the stable, and is notified of such situation, preferably the person responsible for the horse is notified by a phone call, a text message, an email or a combination of the above options. This notification is made through the internet connection port of the control unit.
On the other hand, the recording camera, by means of which the activity of the horse is recorded, is preferably included in said body. Said chamber, in a non-limiting manner, is positioned between 200 cm and 270 cm with respect to the floor of the stable and between 5 cm and 30 cm above the motion sensor.
In this way, the person in charge of the horse can check at any time remotely and in real time the state and activity of the horse, as well as the severity of the anomalous behavior and if it urgently requires veterinary assistance or help to get up.
Additionally, thanks to this configuration, when the control unit determines an anomalous behavior, you can send, usually by email, a video 30 of the horse showing that behavior to its person in charge.
This device, and its method, for the detection of anomalous behavior of horses allows on the one hand to diagnose prematurely the equine colic, and on the other hand to determine if the horse is lying and locked against a wall of the stable.
Thanks to its configuration, this device reduces the number of surgical emergencies and the number of deaths of horses, representing an economic advantage for those responsible for equine holdings. This device also improves the quality of life of the horses, since it quickly detects the colic and therefore its treatment is faster and more effective, reducing the suffering of the horse.
Additionally, thanks to this device, if the horse is lying very close to one of the walls of the stable and cannot get up on its own, it is quickly detected, preventing hours spent trying to get up until the head of the equine exploitation detects it and help you. This reduces the psychological and physical stress of the animal that is in this situation, improving its quality of life and avoiding injuries.
15 Finalmente, este dispositivo supervisa, y comunica al responsable del caballo, dos de los comportamientos anomalos equinos que mayor repercusion tienen en el sector ecuestre, y que actualmente unicamente se pueden supervisar en persona por personal cualificado.15 Finally, this device supervises, and communicates to the person responsible for the horse, two of the equine anomalous behaviors that have the greatest impact on the equestrian sector, and currently can only be monitored in person by qualified personnel.
