Abstract
A method of increasing the length and reducing the thickness of an elongated body, characterized by subjecting successive portions of the length of the body to cyclic plastic tension, simultaneously subjecting the same successive portions of the body to insufficient tensile stresses by themselves to produce plastic elongation of said body, and simultaneously also subjecting the same successive portions of said body to sufficient pressure only in combination with the cyclic plastic tension and the tensile stress to reduce the thickness of the body.
