OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The invention, as expressed in the statement of the present specification, refers to an adhesive elastic bandage, which contributes, to the function to which it is intended, several advantages and novelty characteristics that will be described in detail below and that they suppose an improvement of the current state of the art.

More particularly, the object of the invention focuses on an adhesive elastic bandage, of the type used primarily in neuromuscular bandage, although it is also used in rigid or support bandages, whose fabric has an innovative elastic weft and warp structure that the It makes mbs stable and mechanically resistant, allowing, in addition, the greatest possible elongation of the elastic fibers or threads that make up the mentioned fabric thereof.

FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION

The field of application of the present invention is framed within the textile sector, focusing specifically on the scope of the industry dedicated to the manufacture of elastic bandages, and in particular, adhesive bandages for bandaging in the field of physiotherapy, rehabilitation and medicine.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

As known, the neuromuscular bandage, kinesiologic taping or kinesiotaping, consists of elastic cotton strips with an acrylic adhesive used to treat muscle injuries of athletes and other physical disorders sticking on the skin of the patient in the area to be treated. It is a type of elastic cotton bandage, capable of stretching with respect to its initial length. As a result, if the bandage is applied to a patient with a stretch greater than normal length, it will recede after being applied and will create a tension on the skin that could act on the underlying musculature. Well, the problem that the bandage recommended here comes to solve is the fact that, at present, the bandages used in neuromuscular bandage have a structure in their tissue of the type called ligament-taffeta. In this type of structure, the thread zigzags continuously to each evolution, both in the direction of the weft and the warp, so the amount of friction that occurs between the warp and weft threads at each point Of inflection, it makes impossible for the thread to develop all its elastic capacity.

This inability, in addition to limiting the possibilities and benefits of the bandage, since the bandage limits movement, especially if it is wide and can create pathology if it is also repetitive (runner), it also makes it impossible to standardize reliably the method of placement of the same to ensure optimal tension, by not allowing to know the elastic (temporary) and plastic (permanent) extensions of the bandage, to take it into account with respect to the lengthening of the human skin in the area to apply the bandage .

EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

The adhesive elastic bandage that the present invention proposes is thus configured as a novelty within the scope of the bandages, the characterizing details distinguishing it from what is already known conveniently included in the final claims that accompany the present specification of the same.

Specifically, what the invention proposes, as already noted above, is an adhesive bandage preferably applicable to prevent or treat neuromuscular problems that, unlike existing bandages, has a structure in its tissue that, in addition to greater stability and mechanical resistance, provides the greatest possible elongation of the same avoiding limiting any body movement.

For this, the structure of the fabric of the bandage of the invention is openwork, with satin or twill ligament of 3, being able to use satin or twill up to 7 with densities of about 13 threads / cm in the direction of the warp and 22 passes / cm in the weft direction to achieve different elongations, being able to reach, respectively, up to 15 threads in the warp and 25 in the weft, but in any case, reducing friction.

Said type of satin or twill ligament allows the possibility of generating coarse (floating threads on the surface of the tissue) and, therefore, the tissue is not so seized by the friction produced by the inflection points, thus providing! the greatest elasticity power to the bandage.

In addition, as the length of the hem increases, greater freedom of movement of the thread is achieved. Therefore, as the size of the sheath increases, its elasticity power increases, although at the same time its mechanical resistance capacity is also reduced.

It is important to mention that, preferably but not limited to, the weave of the proposed bandage fabric is composed of 100% cotton threads, therefore inelastic and arranged transversely to the warp threads.

And the warp, which are the longitudinal threads of the fabric, is composed of cotton and elastomer threads, where the cotton gets to form 98% of said threads and the

The elastomer can represent 5%, although it is usually only between 2 and 3%.

This composition causes the bandage to stretch only longitudinally, which helps to stimulate the cutaneous receptors in a localized, clear and precise way, without limiting the movement of the bandaged body segment.

Optionally, however, it is also contemplated that the weft may have threads with elastomer, producing a fabric with longitudinal and transverse elasticity to be able to stretch the bandage on all pianos of movement on the skin. This can help improve, above all, facial and circulatory treatments, either blood or lymphatic.

In short, what is achieved with the recommended band is an improved band whose structure, composition, characteristics and defined mechanical properties, allows the different applications with it to be beneficial and measurable to be able to carry out scientific studies with a correct methodology.

It is important to know the composition and characteristics of the bandages that are used to prevent or treat neuromuscular problems, as well as their mechanical properties, in order to perform specific tests that help create valid and scientific application protocols, thus improving the rigor of the studies.

Another of the advantages provided by the bandage of the invention, thanks to its particular structure, is that it allows an elastic elongation equal to or greater than that performed by human skin, since said bandage is not intended to fix or limit body movements, On the contrary, helping the body to normalize. With the information that can be extracted from the proposed bandage, the tension produced by said bandage on the skin is clarified, since it has sufficient characteristics and metrical properties to be able to match or exceed the elongation performed by the skin. With the current bandages the total lengthening of the bandage (elastic and plastic) is valued, making movement difficult with the application made, without knowing it.

Likewise, said structure provides the bandage with the toughness (kg / mm) or energy absorption capacity, sufficient to withstand the different tensions to which it can be subjected, without damaging the skin on which it adheres.

Finally, the structure of the bandage of the invention makes it possible to withstand enough force so that the elastic elongation thereof is as wide as possible and, thus, help to withstand the tensions produced by corporate movements made with the bandage attached.

Finally, it should be mentioned that, optionally, the bandage has a certain pre-elongation, useful for applications where little bandage elongation is needed and, thus, can be carried out correctly.

Said pre-elongation keeps the fibers or threads of the bandage structure in tension, specifically the warp threads which, as noted, are those that preferably exhibit elasticity, so that, when said threads lose said tension, they will keep contractile capacity, producing wrinkles in the bandage that help reduce pain and improve blood and lymph circulation.

To achieve said pre-elongation, the bandage is adhered to a paper that supports this pre-elongation.

The described adhesive elastic bandage represents, therefore, an innovation of structural and constitutive characteristics unknown until now, reasons that together with its practical utility, provide it with sufficient grounds to obtain the privilege of exclusivity that is requested.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforementioned figures, and in accordance with the numbering adopted, an example of the fabric of the already known bandages and two non-limiting examples of the structure of the fabric contemplated by the recommended bandage, which is distinguished, can be observed in the parts and elements indicated and described in detail below.

Thus, as seen in said figures, the bandage in question, which in a known manner comprises an elastic fabric (1) made of cotton and elastomeric threads to which an adhesive layer is attached, said fabric being formed by a structure of weft threads (2) and warp threads (3), it is distinguished because said structure consists of an openwork structure with satin or twill ligament of at least 3, as shown in the example shown in Figures 3 and 4, and which can be an openwork structure with satin ligament or twill of 5, as shown in the example of figures 5 and 6, or an openwork structure with satin ligament or twill of up to 7, providing greater resilience

Finally, it should be noted that the adhesive layer is preferably a thin layer of synthetic latex-based acrylic resin 10 without latex, with great adhesion power especially on the skin and cotton with which the threads of the fabric are made.
