Abstract

Personal, passive safety system and equipment for vessels in situations where a person has fallen overboard. The system comprises personal equipment (1, 21) and onboard equipment (10, 50), each item of personal equipment comprising: - a buoyancy aid (25) folded inside the flap (23) of a garment (20), for example dungarees with a harness, worn by a crew member and configured so as to open through the action of inflating the buoyancy aid (25) and placing the buoyancy aid around said person's neck - an inflation module (22) connected to the buoyancy aid (25) and configured in order to inflate the buoyancy aid (25) when the personal equipment (21) detects a situation of a person having fallen overboard - a communications device (28) with a radiobeacon and wireless communications module for establishing a link with the onboard equipment (10, 50) - a module (29) for managing the personal equipment with a GPS (41).
