Abstract

The present invention relates to a detergent composition of vegetable origin containing a biosurfactant obtained from corn and comprising a hydrophobic fraction consisting of fatty acids and a protein fraction, which allows it to be soluble in water. The fatty acids found in the hydrophobic fraction are palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic and/or elaidic acid and linoleic acid. It is also observed that this biosurfactant does not form a foam, which could be used as a non-foaming surfactant in the preparation of cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food products; as well as in numerous industrial processes where it is desired to avoid the formation of foam.
