Abstract

Use of a membrane in an internal combustion engine with spark ignition, to segregate a first fuel that has a Research octane number (RON) greater than 100, a combustion rate greater than 105% isooctane and a laminar flame velocity greater than 105% isooctane from sinplomo fuels that boil in the gasoline range and form a second fuel that has an RON less than 90, a combustion rate greater than 105% isooctane and a laminar flame velocity greater than 105% deisooctane, the combustion rate of the first and second fuels being defined as 1 / crankshaft angles for 90% of complete combustion and measured at the time of the engine operating cycle corresponding respectively to different conditions of low load and low load conditions, measured the laminar flame speed of the first and second fuel at a temperature and pressure representative of the conditions in the engine, respectively e under different conditions of low load and low load conditions, the low load conditions being those regions of the engine operating map at or below those in which the motor can be operated with a minimum ignition advance for optimum torque adjustment detortion (MBT) with a fuel that has a RON of 90 without the detonation condition.
