Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing cellular materials having a non-crosslinked thermoplastic matrix with relative densities of less than 0.2, with anisotropy indices of more than 1.5 both in an open cell and a partially interconnected cell, and with a relative elastic modulus in compression of more than 0.6 MPa/(kg/m3), a relative shear modulus of more than 0.18 MPa/(kg/m3) and a collapse stress of more than 0.010 MPa/(kg/m3),), comprising the steps of: mixing at least one thermoplastic polymer with a chemical foaming agent and at least one type of nanoparticle forming a precursor material (5) and cutting same (A); introducing the obtained precursor material (5) into a uni-directional expansion mould with an expansion-retaining system (B); increasing the temperature of the mould and applying pressure to the mould (C1); releasing the pressure (C2) in order to achieve the expansion (C3) of the material; cooling the mould (D); and demoulding the sheet obtained (E).
