Abstract

The first lateral portion (13) of the support band (2) faces the first lateral zone (16) of the head (5), the second lateral portion (14) faces the second lateral zone and the central portion (15) faced with the central zone (18).

Self-adhesive material dispensing device.

Field and object of the invention

The invention falls within the field of product marking and labeling equipment and more specifically refers to a dispensing device of self-adhesive material, such as labels, adhered to the surface of a continuous support band, said self-adhesive material being hardly removable . State of the art

At present, different devices for dispensing self-adhesive material are known.

In most cases, said devices have a roll holder in which the support band that has adhered on its surface to the self-adhesive material has been wound. Said band after crossing a first group of rollers that lead it along a certain variable route according to each case, usually reaches a dispensing head that as a main element has a dispensing edge, which usually materializes in a live edge, which it is usually continuous and straight, determining, a second set of rollers located behind the head, a substantial vacation in the trajectory of the support band. When the band passes through the dispensing edge and due to the drag force applied by the second group of rollers, the adhesive material is detached from the support band and the dispensing thereof occurs.

When the self-adhesive material is hardly removable from the support strip, that is when, due to the nature of the adhesive layer and at the time stiffness of the self-adhesive material, the dispensing edges of the known heads up to now which are straight and continuous, in many cases make that the detachment of said material from the web is deficient, the self-adhesive material being totally or partially glued on the support web after passing through said edge, and even causing deterioration of said material due to wrinkling of the material, rendering it unusable.

Therefore, a need has been detected to provide a dispenser of self-adhesive material that, given the particular configuration of the dispensing head and specifically of the dispensing edge, allows dispensing in the case of hard-to-remove self-adhesive material.

This objective is achieved by means of the invention as defined in claim 1, preferred embodiments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims. Description of the invention

The present invention relates to a dispensing device of self-adhesive material, where the self-adhesive material is adhered to the surface of a continuous support band. The dispenser is of the type of which the support band is wound in a roll holder, said support band passing through first rollers until it reaches the dispensing head comprising a first edge and a dispensing edge opposite the first edge, said edge being con fi gured for peel off the adhesive material from the support band. Once the detachment of the self-adhesive material has occurred, the support band is dragged by traction rollers moved by a motor and deposited in a dustpan. In the particular case it supports two lateral portions between which a central portion is arranged. A first lateral potion of width A1, a second lateral portion of width A2 and the central portion of width A3.

More specifically, the dispenser object of the invention is characterized in that the dispensing edge is broken by having a recess that defines in the dispensing head two lateral zones and between which a central zone is arranged. A first lateral zone of width A1 ', a second lateral zone of width A2' and the central zone of width A3 ', where it is fulfilled that A1≤A1', A2≤A2'yA3≥A3 'and where, as it passes through the head, the first lateral portion of the support band is faced with the first lateral zone of the head, the second lateral portion of the support band is faced with the second lateral zone of the head and the central portion of the support band is faced with the central area of the head.

A first aspect of the invention, A1 ± 10 mm ≤A1’ and A2 ± 10 mm ≤A2 ’can be fulfilled. In addition, the ratio between the respective widths A1 'and A2' of the first and second lateral zones of the head and the width A3 'of the central zone (18) thereof may be A1' + A2 '> 5% (A1' + A2 '+ A3').

Additionally, the entrant may comprise three consecutive broken sections, two of them parallel to each other and an intermediate one connecting them, the two extreme sections with a distance H2 with respect to the first edge of the head and the central section with a distance H1 with respect to to said first edge, where H2-H1 is ≥ 1.5 mm. Advantageously, the two extreme sections may be perpendicular to the intermediate section of the recess.

Finally, the condition may be given that the widths A1 and A2 of the lateral areas of the head may be the same, this characteristic being non-limiting, and may be different.

In this way, thanks to the particular configuration of the head and more specifically of the dispensing edge, which has the recess whose shape has been described and together with the circumstance that the support band has the weakened weakening or pre-cut lines, it is achieved that since H1, the distance to the opposite edge of the head of the central zone is somewhat less than the height H2 of the lateral zones, a detachment of the self-adhesive material occurs, firstly in the central area of the support band, remaining detached for a few moments only the central strip of the self-adhesive material, and thus facilitating the beginning of the detachment, for, then and thanks to the lateral areas of the head, since the lateral portions of the support band are separated by the lines of precut of the central portion, to achieve the complete detachment along the entire width of the self-adhesive material, allowing its dispensing This material is not wrinkled or improperly detached. In Figures 1 and 2, a side view and a plan view of the self-adhesive material dispensing device object of the invention are respectively shown. In said device the self-adhesive material (1) is adhered to the surface of a continuous support band (2), which is wound in a roll holder (3), said support band (2) passing through first rollers (4) until it reaches to the dispensing head (5) comprising a first edge (6) and a dispensing edge (7) opposite the first edge, configured to release the adhesive material (1) from the support strip (2), which is dragged by rollers of traction (8) moved by a motor (9) and deposited in a collector (10).

In figures 3 and 4 the concrete shape of the dispensing edge (7) can be seen, specifically, the dispensing edge (7) is broken by having a recess (20) that defines two lateral zones (5) in the dispensing head (5). 16) and (17) between which there is a central zone (18), a first lateral zone (16) of width A1 ', a second lateral zone (17) of width A2' and the central zone (18) of width A3 '. On the other hand, in Figure 5 a portion of the support band (2) is shown in which it can be seen how said band (2) has weakening lines (11) and (12), which can be performed by a precut that only crosses the band (1) and not the self-adhesive material (1), which can be said continuous or discontinuous precut. The aforementioned weakening lines divide the support band (2) into two lateral portions (13) and (14) between which a central portion (15), a first lateral potion (13) of width A1, a second lateral portion of width A2 and the central portion of width A3.

Taking into account the described configuration of both the head (5) and the support band (2), when the band passes through the head, the first side portion (13) of the support band (2) faces the first zone side (16) of the head (5), the second side portion (14) of the support band (2) faces the second side area (17) of the head (5) and the central portion (15) of the support band (2) faces the central zone (18) of the head. Said portions of the support band (2) may be resting directly on the corresponding areas of the head (5) or slightly separated therefrom and it will be fulfilled that A1≤A1 ’, A2≤A2’ and A3≥A3 ’. That is to say that the lateral areas of the head will normally have a width greater than the lateral portions of the support band and the central area of the head will have a width less than or equal to the width of the central portion of the support band. Advantageously, and as regards respective portions and lateral areas of the band and the head, the following dimensional relationship will be fulfilled: A1 ± 10 mm ≤A1’ and A2 ± 10 mm ≤A2 ’.

Additionally, the relation between the respective widths A1 'and A2' of the first and second lateral zones (16) and (17) of the head (5) and the width A3 'of the central zone (18) thereof will be: A1' + A2 '> 5% (A1' + A2 '+ A3'). In the same way and in a particular way it will be possible to comply that A1 = A2, this characteristic not being in any case limiting.

Describing now the concrete configuration of the recess (20) and therefore of the dispensing edge (7), the specific form of said entrant (20), in this embodiment, as can be seen marked with a broken line in the figure. 4, has a way in which the two extreme sections (20a) and (20b) of the recess (20) are perpendicular to the intermediate section (20c) thereof. In addition, the two end sections (20a) and (20b) are located at a distance H2 with respect to the first edge (6) of the head (5) and the central section (20c) is located at a distance H1 with respect to said first edge (6), where H2-H1 is ≥ 1.5 mm.

Self-adhesive material dispensing device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the recess (20) comprises three consecutive broken sections, two end sections (20a) and (20b) parallel to each other and an intermediate section (20c) that connects, the two end sections, where the end sections (20a) and (20b) are separated a distance H2 from the first edge (6) of the head (5) and the central section (20c) is separated a distance H1 from to said first edge (6) and where it is fulfilled that H2-H1 is ≥1.5 mm.

The inclusion of this broken dispensing edge prevents the self-adhesive material from being totally or partially in the web, allowing the correct dispensing in the case of hard-to-remove self-adhesive material. Document D1 discloses a dispensing device of self-adhesive material in which the self-adhesive material is adhered to a continuous support band, wound in a roll holder, passing the band through rollers until it reaches the dispensing head. The head comprises a first edge and an opposite dispensing edge, which detaches the self-adhesive material from the web, the web being dragged by a motor and deposited in a dustpan. The band has a weakening line that divides the band into two lateral portions, of widths A1 and A2. The dispensing edge is broken, with a recess that defines two lateral zones of widths B1 and B2; provided that A1 is the same as B1 and A2 is the same as B2. As it passes through the head, the first portion of the band faces the first lateral area of the head and the second portion of the band the second lateral area of the head. The inclusion of this broken dispensing edge prevents the self-adhesive material from being totally or partially in the band (see column 2, line 31 column 3, line 37; column 7, lines 3-9; column 8, lines 45-54; figures 1,4.17). Likewise, document D1 itself indicates the possible application with more portions in the band, having a central portion then of width A3, in which case, the head also has a central area of width B3. This broken inlet has two end sections parallel to each other, connected by another intermediate perpendicular to them (see column 8, lines 54-57; figures 17A). The fact that it is not mentioned that A3 is equal to B3 and that the central portion of the band would face the central area of the head is considered obvious to the person skilled in the art, since in the specified example the two lateral portions and lateral zones are equal, forcing the central portion to be equal to the central zone. Therefore, the invention defined in claims 1-3.6 does not differ from the known technique described in document D1 in any essential way, being considered obvious to one skilled in the art. Accordingly, the invention according to claims 1-3.6 is not considered to involve inventive activity based on what is disclosed in document D1 (Art. 8 LP). With respect to dependent claim 4, the fact that the depth of the crack is greater than or equal to 1.5 mm is considered a simple choice of dimensions, evident to the person skilled in the art.
