2. Statement motivated according to articles 29.6 and 29.7 of the Regulations for the execution of Law 11/1986, of March 20, on Patents on novelty and inventive activity; quotes and explanations in support of this statement

The claimed invention deals with a method and a digital content license management system for the OMA DRM v1 standard for this purpose, instead of each content having its own license, there is a common license for all content.

The state of the art document closest to the invention is D01 and discloses a method of managing license keys that manages various content with a group technique.

For clarity, and as far as possible, the same wording used in claim 1 is used. The references in parentheses correspond to D01. Technical characteristics not found in document D01 are indicated in square brackets.

Claim 1 Procedure where a common license is generated to all the contents of a user's subscription, in which the license specifies the permissions and restrictions of the use of the contents and a common encryption key, and because all the contents are protected with the common encryption key (section 2: “License key management for grouping contents” steps 2 and 3; figure 1).

A common Kab encryption key appears on D01 that shares all content and through this key each content is accessed. Therefore, in light of D01, the invention is not new as set forth in articles 6 and 8 of the 1986 Patent Law

Claim 2 The license and the contents of the subscription comprise the same content identifier. (Section 2: “License key management for grouping contents”).

[The license is valid for a limited time and the license is renewed after the limited time, in which the renewed license specifies a new common encryption key.]

The limitation of licenses and their renewal is a practice belonging to common general knowledge and therefore evident to the person skilled in the art. In light of D01, inventions 3 and 4 are new but lack inventive activity as set forth in articles 6 and 8 of the 1986 Patent Law

Claims 5 and 6 Use a digital rights management technology that does not support inheritance or licensing mechanisms (section 2: “License key management for grouping contents”) and digital rights management technology follows the [OMA DRM V1 standard ] (section 2: “License key management for grouping contents”)

In D01, no inheritance or chain system is mentioned but a master key. The use for a specific standard is a mere design option and therefore it is considered that inventions 5 and 6 are not new as set forth in articles 6 and 8 of the 1986 Patent Law

Claims 7 Digital rights management system, is configured to develop the method described in claims 1-6 solving the same technical problem.

Therefore, in light of D01, the invention is not new as set forth in articles 6 and 8 of the 1986 Patent Law.
