Object of the invention

The present invention refers to a table with electromagnetic protection, intended to prevent electrostatic discharges, induced voltages and electromagnetic fields and against microtrauma caused by pressure and repeated mechanical contacts, intended to protect people in any field, whether work or residential and, especially, against semicircular lipoatrophy disorder. This table with electromagnetic protection is intended for the protection of people in the offices and other places, where they are exposed to electromagnetic fields, induced voltages or the effects of cables and electronic devices, static electricity, microtrauma caused by pressure and mechanical contact that they are related to the pathology called semicircular lipoatrophy. Commonly, a table is constituted by a substantially flat board and suitable legs or support fixed in its lower part, for its support at a certain height, de fi ning a work surface superiorly, or useful for depositing various items. These tables can be constructed of various rigid and resistant materials, such as metal, wood or plastic materials.

The provision of electrical and electronic devices in operation on the tables in general results in the appearance of electromagnetic fields and induced voltages, which may affect the user's body, especially if they remain in their proximity for a long time. Tables with metal parts absorb electromagnetic fields and transform them into a tension. This voltage induced by electromagnetic fields can pass to the worker's body in contact with the table. And the non-metallic part of the table lets the electromagnetic fields of the devices pass to the user's body. Thus, these electromagnetic fields and the induced tensions cause certain ailments and discomforts, such as semicircular lipoatrophy, which consists of injuries that affect users and workers in office, office, school and other work environments where there is cited large number of electrical and electronic equipment. Although it has not been found safely, this disorder is largely attributed to the electromagnetic fields and the induced voltages produced by nearby electronic devices and power and telecommunications cables.

As can be seen in the referenced figures, the table with electromagnetic protection comprises a board (1) that is substantially flat, rectangular in shape and made of wood, which has four legs (2) that are substantially vertical, displaced towards the ends and also made of wood.

The board (1) has, in its structure, an electromagnetic shielding layer (3) formed by a network of electrically conductive fibers. In the surrounding contour of the board (1) there is a protection (4) of a padded material to avoid microtraumas and user contact pressures.

On an outer side of one of the legs (2) there is a longitudinal channel (5) with electromagnetic shielding arranged from the lower end to the top of the board (1) for the passage of cables to a shielded socket base

Table with electromagnetic protection, of the type comprising a substantially flat board (1) and legs (2) fixed at the bottom for its support at a certain height on the support floor, defining a work surface superiorly or to deposit various items, the board (1) and the legs (2) being made of a non-metallic and antistatic material characterized in that the board (1) internally comprises an electromagnetic shielding layer (3), being associated with one of the legs (2) a gutter (5) with electromagnetic shielding for the passage of electrical cables to a shielded plug base (6) arranged on the upper surface of said board (1) and adjacent to the upper end of said gutter (5); and because the outline or edge of the board (1) presents a protection (4) of a padded material for protection against micro trauma and contact pressures to the users. 2.
