Abstract

The gravestone is made of a piece of porcelaneous material. An enamel is applied to said piece and fired. Digital and photographic re-touch programmes are used to assemble the decorative components that the client decides to select for the gravestone. When the composition is complete, transfer printing takes place on a digital laser printer. The transfer is enamelled and dried in order to be applied to the enamelled surface of the piece of porcelaneous material, which will be refired in the kiln in order to fuse the two enamels, resulting in a high-shine gravestone suitable for exterior use.

Description

Lápida cerámica de diseño.Ceramic gravestone design.

It is the object of the present invention to take advantage the inherent properties of ceramics, stoneware, glass, vitro ceramic, porcelain stoneware or porcelain, so that they can use these materials from certain dimensions in the execution of headstones that present the novelty of showing  permanently photographs of loved ones, compositions of flowers, borders, images of saints of the devotion of the deceased, landscapes especially loved by him, various typologies and character text of letters or any other detail of particular interest that reminds us somehow of the life of deceased.

Specifically, said materials are used in form of compacted plates in ceramic mold, glass or other ceramic material that can form a multitude of textures, between those found that mimic marble in any of its modalities or granite. But we can also get textures of the most varied designs, many of them being very appropriate to reach a beautiful background of noble material on the that highlights the photography and ornaments indicated above. By submitting to  furnace a novel tombstone is obtained in the state of the art and specific to the object of the present invention, achieving a combination of factors, color and physical appearance impossible to get with traditional tombstones, being its aesthetic effect very  appreciated.

A standardized system of construction of headstones, simple assembly, versatile since it is applicable to various textures and colors on which photographs and ornamental motifs appear at will and that takes advantage of the natural properties of hardness, resistance and insulation, color and aesthetic appearance of a material that up Now it has had numerous uses, but it has never been used Like gravestone in cemeteries. In particular, it is a resistant material, which has a very stable behavior before all variables both physical and chemical, being high longevity.

Gravestones are known in different types of materials, usually of a stony nature, among which marbles and granites stand out, to fit in the front of the niches or to place on the graves, of impossible conjunction with the decorative elements of the gravestones object of the  present invention, since they are constructed with very different, in addition to requiring specific structures and jobs particular for each type of tombstones, when presenting each their peculiar properties. Document ES 231346 U proposes the construction of a glass frame on the outside of the tombstone to protect the photographs and other ornaments that remain exposed between glass and gravestone. Document ES 1044794 U se refers to a tombstone to beautify the closing of the niche, characterized by being made from a material plate rigid minimum thickness, on which a sheet is glued paper waterproofing that has the various motifs printed funeral homes, extracted by computer, resulting in a tombstone of poor durability Document ES 228291 U proposes a gravestone for niches and graves constituted by a molded part in ceramic or porcelain material, whose exposed face has decorative bas-reliefs of motifs and figures, enameled and cooked, determining an unalterable surface, being endowed in the back side of a peripheral flat edge for adaptation to the surface of the niche or grave, without it being possible to incorporate the same ornamental motifs of the gravestone object of the present invention

The use of the base material, ceramic, porcelain or Flat stoneware is unknown for this type of application, knowing only ceramic bas-reliefs, without any document describe a tombstone structure or configuration of ceramics as proposed by the present invention.

Known systems use ceramic material either for accessories, such as vases or figures, or as has been said to set up bas-relief figures, but it doesn't extend its use to flat textures or quadrangular shapes.

The invention object of this patent is constitutes from a piece of porcelain, glass or other ceramic material on which an enamel is applied. One time baked in the oven you get the enameled piece. Through digital and photo retouching programs the assembly of the decorative elements that the client decides to choose for the stone. Among these decorative elements you can choose a granite or marble texture or also a whimsical texture, colors, grain size, grain orientation, size of the grain vein, the photo of the deceased or a saint of his devotion, landscapes, flowers, borders, borders and decorated corners, typeface with textures in gold, silver, bronze and any other element contributed for the client. Once the tombstone is composed, the impression is made on a transfer in digital laser printer machine. Machine makes a maximum size of 43 mm x 29.7 mm., although with the advance of the computer technology the transfer could be obtained in the Future with superior measures. Therefore, since the measures of the tombstone are superior to those of the transfer, partitions are made and it is printed in as many parts as the size of the gravestone is, composing this one with the juxtaposition of the different parts. He transfer is enameled and dried to be applied on the surface  enamelling of the porcelain tile described above. With this application you get a piece with final design that will be baked in the oven, again, for the fusion of the two enamels. A bright tombstone is obtained and adapted for outdoor use. It can also be done instead of transfer by application direct by means of ink-jet printer, with what You get the same result.

The industrial application of this invention is found in the mortuary tombstone construction industry with basic materials alternative to marble and granite, being valid for both niche tombstones and tombstones grave.

In order to present an embodiment of the invention is described below a headstone made to from a piece of porcelain on which a enamel and bake in the oven. Through retouching programs digital and photographic elements are assembled decorative elements that constitute the ornamentation of the tombstone, choosing among said decorative elements a basic texture pink marble with diagonally oriented grain to the right, the color photo of the deceased, a bouquet of violets, a border by the edges and corners and a typeface for the name and date of birth and death with textures in gold. Once the tombstone is composed, printing is done on a transfer in digital laser machine. Next, the piece and let dry to apply the transfer on the enameled surface. It is cooked again in the oven obtaining thus a bright tombstone and adapted for outdoor use.
