Circuit breaker device comprising a mobile switch arm in open and closed positions to open and close said circuit, means for actuating said switch arm, a movable exhaust member to effect automatic opening movement of said switch arm, an electromagnetic escapement device comprising an armature operable to move said movable exhaust member, a time delay device that retards the exhaust operation of said exhaust member, control means that effect a relatively long time delay in the exhaust movement of said member exhaust, a controllable element operable to effect a relatively short time delay in the exhaust movement of said exhaust member, a controllable armature for instantaneously actuating said control element, and means responsive to the position of said arm switch to make said control armature operate instantly said escapement member.
