Abstract

Procedimiento para la preparación de poliestirenos cristalinos, de elevado peso molecular, isotácticos, caracterizados porque la polimerización se realiza en presencia de un catalizador producido por reacción de un compuesto de uno de los metales de los primeros sub-grupos de los grupos 4º a 6º del sistema periódico (incluyendo el torio y el uranio), con un metal, aleación, hidruro de metal o compuesto organo-metálico de los grupos 1º a 3º del sistema periódico, y en presencia de un líquido que tiene buenas propiedades disolventes para los polímeros de estireno de bajo peso molecular, y que no reacciona con el catalizador.
