Claims

1. Retractable headrest for vehicle seats, comprising an armor (1) and a fluffy covering, whose armor has two parallel columns (2-3) that protrude inferiorly from the covering and are housed with the ability to slide into individual bushings (4 -5) mounted on the back of the seat, bushings that are closed superiorly by means of plugs (7-7 ') equipped with a central passage for the columns (2-3), including at least one of the plugs a transverse bolt (12) of interlocking the corresponding column in a position of use of the headrest, said bolt being driven towards the interlocking position by means of a spring (13), characterized in that the mentioned transverse bolt is connected to a cable (15), by means of which traction is caused the movement of the bolt (12), against the action of the spring (13), outside the interlocking position of the column; and because the cap bearing cap that includes the transverse bolt (12) houses an internal head (9), and a compression spring (10) mounted between said head (9) and the cap (7) around the column (2) ); whose head (9) is movable to the top of the bushing, between a lower retractable position and an upper use position in which the spring (10) is compressed, and has releasable fixing means on the end of the corresponding column; and whose cap (7) has an internal skirt (23) that serves as a limiting element of the displacement of the internal head (9) in an upward direction and as a releasing element of the means for fixing said head to the end of the column.

Headrest according to claim 1, characterized in that the fixing means of the head on the end of the corresponding column consist of a peripheral channel (22) having said column (2-3), near its end, and two substantially parallel retractable pins (19), which are mounted between paths oblique grooves (18) made in a cylindrical wall (17) that protrudes superiorly from said head., whose grooves are through, are diametrically opposed and diverge in a downward direction ; the pins (19) being movable on the grooves (18) between an upper position, in which they protrude from the inner surface of the wall and partially penetrate the peripheral channel (22) of the end of the column (2), and a lower position, in which they do not protrude from the inner surface of the wall and release the column (2) for removal; and because around the wall (17) mentioned there is arranged a bowl (20), on whose bottom the end portions of the pins (19) rest, and a compression spring (21) mounted between the bowl (20) and the head (9) that constantly drives the bowl upwards.

Headrest according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the inner skirt (23) of the cap (7) is of diameter between the maximum and minimum diameters of the bottom of the bowl (20) and supports through its free edge on said bottom, when the bowl reaches its upper position inside the bush, acting as a holding element of the bowl, by pulling and moving the armature upwardly (1), to cause the pins (19) to fall, by their own weight, on the bottom of the bowl, to the lower position of release of the column (2).
