Abstract
Disposable diaper structure comprising an absorbent pad; a support or reinforcement layer impermeable to water, juxtaposed with a maximum surface of said pad; and a pair of tape tab fastening tabs adhered by end portions to opposite side portions of said support layer near one end thereof on the surface opposite to said absorbent, each of said fastening tabs including a flexible substrate bearing a normally tacky and pressure sensitive adhesive coating on a maximum surface thereof, and a removable sheet or foil having dimensions of width and length equal to that of said substrate, an end portion of said removable sheet or sheet to an end portion of said adhesive coating, the adhered portions coinciding with each other and the other end portion of said removable sheet or sheet being folded back on itself to provide a pull tab, thus exposing the adhesive coating on the other exterior of each of said fastening tabs to provide the -means- to adhere the fastening tabs in the form of tape tabs to the. diaper support layer as stated, each of the surfaces of said substrate being receptive to a Door adhesion by said adhesive coating, and presenting the indicated mine separable sheet urja average strength of bonding to said adhesive between approximately 300 and approximately 700 grams by 2-3/4 inches (69, 85 mm) wide, measured by a tester under the conditions of the test method.
