Abstract

The invention relates to a device which is intended to asses the flexibility of the ischiotibial muscles during flexion of the hip. Said flexibility can be assessed actively or passively in either of the lower limbs. The inventive device comprises two mobile arms (2 and 3) which rotate around a pivot point (1). The upper end of the device is equipped with an angle-measuring support (4) which measures the angle reached by the mobile arms upon moving. The hip flexion measuring device is fixed with two clamps (6 and 6') to the leg of the patient to be assessed and the angle-measuring support is aligned with the greater trochanter of the femur using a concave device. The mobile arms (2 and 3) accompany the leg during the hip flexion movement and one of said arms (3) remains fixed at the maximum position reached at the end of the movement. The angle-measuring support (4) displays the degrees obtained.

Description

Medidor de flexión de cadera.Hip flexion meter.

This invention relates to an instrument for The measurement of hamstring flexibility. It has its field of application in sports equipment, physiological, biomechanical and medical assessment.

Currently, the most commonly tested used and more representative to assess the flexibility of the hip in a flexion movement is the "sit and reach" or "sit and reach" test, as well as a modification of same called the Eurofit physical test battery "flexion of trunk forward from the sitting position ", which is performed in front of a drawer of standard measures.

However, this type of flexibility test does not It is specific for the hamstring musculature since the value obtained is directly influenced by other structures anatomical that are involved in the movement, such as are the extensor muscles of the back or the extensors of the ankle, in addition to other factors that can also disturb the result, as are the anthropometric measurements of the segments involved (length of upper and lower limbs).

Estado de la técnica: AntecedentesState of the art: Background

There are different tests for the assessment of hamstring flexibility. The most employed are those in which the distance reached between the tips is measured of the fingers and toes when flexing the trunk with the fully stretched legs, both standing and in seating. They are done with the knees extended, requesting subject flexing the trunk progressively, without pulling, until touching or exceeding the thigh. It is measured in centimeters the distance that is missing or exceeded, being able to help us with a device that starts from a rule.

The inconvenience of this type of test is that the flexibility of all the dorsally located muscle structures, including muscles hamstring The interest of this test is to obtain a measurement rude to flexibility, in which the hamstrings are required in greater lengths passively by a tilt Anterior of the pelvis.

Another test is the passive survey of the leg by hip flexion keeping the knee extended. This is done in supine position, requesting the subject to raise slowly and progressively the lower limb on one side, with the contralateral resting on the ground. The route is measured articulate, in degrees, from the starting position until the tightness and even the pain of the posterior thigh limit the movement.

Explicación de la invenciónExplanation of the invention.

The hip flexion meter is a device whose purpose is to assess the flexibility of the muscles in degrees hamstrings during hip flexion. This flexibility can be evaluated actively and passively, in either of the two lower limbs.

This device consists of two mobile arms that they revolve around a pivot that at its upper end carries incorporated an angle holder to assess the angulation achieved by moving arms when moving.

One of the movable arms is fixed to the leg that will be valued, matching the angle holder with the greater trochanter of the femur.

When the subject is requested to mobilize the leg in a forward movement, both moving arms accompany the leg in the hip flexion movement by operating the carrier of angles.

Finished the flexion, one of the arms remains fixed at the maximum position reached, leaving the angle holder in that position.
