Abstract
Description
Procedure and machine for conditioning of printed paper using digital printing systems.
The present invention relates to a procedure and its corresponding apparatus for the conditioning of printed paper through printing systems digital that provides sensitive features of novelty and inventive activity
In these times they are being implemented so growing digital printing systems based on various technologies, which use both continuous paper reels and cut sheets, and allow to reach high speeds of printing, which approximate them to printing systems traditional.
A typical feature of many of the Digital printing systems is the generation of heat in sensitive proportion, which produces the heating of the paper and that It varies the ideal humidity conditions that it should have so that its behavior throughout the printing processes and subsequent handling are correct.
This problem especially affects the paper treatment systems once printed, that is, at mechanized cutting, folding and sorting systems, which they allow to obtain complete works, like for example a book. In This type of finishing machines, the loss of moisture in the paper derived from the relatively high heating to which submitted to it when printed significantly influences the paper behavior in subsequent processes, causing Frequent malfunctions.
To try to solve the indicated problem, they have released some procedures and machines that claim replenish the moisture lost by the paper using systems spraying or spraying water on paper after passing this one by the printing phases. However these procedures suffer from sensitive irregularities defects, since the layer of water directly projected on the paper does not allow achieve uniform wetting over the entire surface of East.
The objective of the present invention is precisely to solve the problem mentioned above so that the inventor, after long experiences and tests, has got a paper conditioning procedure printed using digital systems that compensates for the loss of moisture produced by heating the process itself. Saying procedure is based on the layout of a surface on which atmospheric humidity condensation conditions are created by cooling one of its faces, while on the other side slides with adjustable contact the printed paper from digital printing machines. Preferably the paper sliding surface is metallic and in a preferred embodiment is constituted by the surface of one or several cylindrical drums whose internal part is connected to a conventional cooling system and whose surface outside comes into contact the paper that is sliding on said drum, so that the thin layer of surface moisture produced by the condensation of atmospheric humidity on the external surface of the drum cooled internally, is enough to rewet the paper evenly and regularly. As will be understood, the method will be combined with a control of the paper moisture at the exit of the rehumidification process, for condition the internal cooling conditions of the drum, taking into account ambient humidity conditions and one's own paper. Therefore, the procedure will generally include paper moisture detection, conditioning surface cooling characteristics of exchange, preferably a drum, surface variation of contact between the paper and the refrigerated drum and, eventually output speed, all to get the conditioning Optimum moisture characteristics of the paper. So integrated will also detect the degree of humidity of the paper at the exit of the conditioning procedure for compare it with the previously determined optimal values and conditioning the process parameters to achieve the desired rehumidification characteristics.

The present invention also relates to a apparatus intended to perform the object rehumidification process of the present invention.
