Abstract
Método para mejorar el rendimiento y blanqueabilidad de pastas lignocelulósicas, que comprende digerir madera lignocelulósica, que contiene uno o más derivados de xilano seleccionados del grupo formado por xilano unido con lignina, xilano unido con ácido hexenurónico y mezclas de los mismos, con una solución acuosa alcalina de lejiado que contiene sulfuro y que tiene una concentración inicial de iones hidroxilo libres de por lo menos 1 mol por litro, bajo condiciones en las que el xilano se disocia de los citados uno o más derivados de xilano y el pH de la solución permanece por encima de 12,5; y después, cuando el pH de la citada solución es superior a 12,5, añadir a la citada solución de lejiado una cantidad suficiente de un agente ácido para precipitar de la citada solución de lejiado xilano minimizando la precipitación de lignina de la citada solución de lejiado. Un agente ácido preferido es dióxido de carbono.
