Abstract

Un método de diagnóstico del sistema de purificación de los gases de escape en un motor de combustión interna, que se compone de un precatalizador (3) y un catalizador principal (5) dispuestos a lo largo del conducto de escape (4) del motor de combustión interna (2), el primer medio de detección de la temperatura (12) situado a la entrada del precatalizador (3) y que genera la primera señal de temperatura (VI) representativa de la temperatura de la entrada (TI) de los gases de escape a la entrada del precatalizador (3), el segundo medio de detección de la temperatura (8) situado a la salida del precatalizador (3) y que genera la segunda señal de temperatura (Vo) representativa de la temperatura de salida (To) de los gases de escape a la salida de este precatalizador (3), medio de sensor de oxígeno localizado a la entrada del precatalizador (3) y que genera la señal de la composición de los gases de escape (V1), representativa del título de oxígeno de entrada (''I), una unidad de control (10)que recibe como entrada la primera y la segunda señal de temperatura y la señal de la composición de los gases de escape (V1) y que suministra como rendimiento una señal de error (E); el método se compone de las siguientes etapas: a) determinación del calor real (QR) aportado a los gases de escape en el precatalizador (3) como función de la temperatura de entrada (TI) y la temperatura de salida (To) (130); b) determinación del calor nominal (QNOM ) correspondiente a las condiciones operativas nominales del precatalizador (3) (150); c) determinación del índice (I) representativo del estado de desgaste del precatalizador (3), como función de este calor real (QR) y el calor nominal (QNOM ) (160); caracterizado porque la citada etapa c) de determinación del índice (I) comprende la siguiente etapa: c1) cálculo del índice (I) sobre la base de la proporción entre el calor real (QR) y el calor nominal (QNOM).
