Abstract

A reaction mixture is oxidized using an (in)organic (hydro)peroxide, in a solvent-free liquid phase and in the presence of a microporous and/or mesoporous molecular sieve catalyst having a specific channel diameter and containing silicon and titanium in the lattice and non-lattice positions. Oxidizing sulfur compounds present in gasoline, kerosene and diesel fractions comprises: (i) oxidizing a reaction mixture containing at least one of the above fractions using at least one oxidizing agent selected from inorganic peroxides, organic peroxides and/or hydroperoxides, in a solvent-free liquid phase and in the presence of at least one microporous and/or mesoporous molecular sieve as a solid catalyst and (ii) separating the unreacted products from the reacted products. The molecular sieves have a channel diameter greater than 0.6 nm and include silicon and titanium in lattice and non-lattice positions.
