Abstract
Set of needles with immobilizer perfected for the application of spinal anesthesia with fine needles consisting of a spinal needle of reduced caliber (25-G, 27-G, 29-G, ...) and an introducer. The proposed system is based on the geometry of the spinal needle (10) and introducer (8) bodies, the first of elliptical section and the second hollow conical. The hollow prism located within this last body is defined by two ellipses rotated at an angle less than or equal to 30 ° (18 and 19). The immobilizer exerts its function, once the spinal needle (2) has been introduced into the introducer (1) at the proper depth, turning the spinal needle 30 °, which produces a pressure of the same body on the inner walls of the body of the introducer, which sufficiently immobilizes the longitudinal movement of the spinal needle. Upon completion of the 30 ° rotation, the ends of the larger radii of the ellipse that defines the prismatic body of the needle suddenly pass from a position of greater tension to a final position of less tension in which it is fixed by pressure and friction, a fact that the anesthesiologist notes. In addition, the new system has features such as the ergonomic shape of the needle heads (4) and introducer (16), the millimeter of the surface of the needle body (15) that indicates the depth and the transparent channel (11) which allows early observation of cerebrospinal fluid outflow.
