Abstract
The mineral wool contains (in wt. %): 35-60, preferably 40-55 SiO2, 5-18, preferably 6-16, Al2O3, 50-75, preferably 55-65, SiO2+Al2O3+P2O5, 20-40, preferably 22-35, CaO + MgO, 2.8-10, preferably 3.5-8 Na2O+K2O, 2.6-8, preferably 3-6, P2O5, 1-15, preferably 3-10 Fe2O3, 0-3 B2O3, and 0-3, preferably 0.05-3, TiO2. Ratio R1 = (SIO2 + Al2O3)/P2O5 = 12-20. The following conditions hold for the mineral wool: (a) R2 = P2O5/(Na2O + K2O) = 0.5-2, preferably 0.6-1.5 (b) R3 = P2O5/Fe2O3 = 0.2-1.5, preferably 0.5-1 (c) 5% <= Al2O3 <= 12% and R4 = SiO2/P2O5 = 11-20, preferably 12-16, and, preferably R5 = Al2O3/(Na2O + K2O) = 0.5-4, preferably less than 3 (d) 12% <= Al2O3 <= 18% and R6 = Al2O3/P2O5 = 2-6, preferably 3-5, and, preferably, R7 = SiO2/(Na2O + K2O) = 8-20, preferably 10-15. Independent claims are given for: (a) a mineral wool formed into fiber by outward centrifuging and (b) a thermal and/or acoustic insulation product or a substrate for cultivation without sunlight.
