Abstract
Escáner para lectura de escritura en sistema "Braille" por ultrasonidos. El escáner basa su funcionamiento en la utilización de transductores piezoeléctricos para emitir y recibir señales ultrasónicas al aire y un sistema de movimiento para insonificar punto a punto la superficie del material sobre el que se ha grabado el texto en Braille y recoger, simultáneamente, la amplitud de la señal reflejada y las coordenadas de dicho punto. La presencia de realces, depresiones, o simplemente zonas planas produce variaciones en la amplitud de la señal reflejada que convenientemente recogida según el haz ultrasónico recorre la superficie del material en el que se ha grabado el texto en Braille, permite digitalizar la información contenida en el mismo.
