Abstract

Procedimiento para modificar las propiedades redox y electroquímicas de materiales compuestos poliméricos a base de introducir polvo de grafito en su interior, consistente en la dispersión de las partículas de grafito finamente dividido dentro del material compuesto, ya sea realizando un tratamiento térmico o no, siendo el proceso de endurecimiento del material por vía química o física, para producir productos acabados de materiales compuestos, en los que se hayan introducido materiales conductores de la electricidad, tales como metales y sus óxidos. El papel del grafito consiste en modificar las propiedades redox, electroquímicas y conductoras, así como sus prestaciones mecánicas, ópticas y estéticas. Estas piezas son susceptibles de ser recubiertas por otros materiales, tales como films electrogenerados o depósitos de sustancias que requieran de transferencia electrónica para mostrar sus propiedades redox, electroquímicas o electrocatálicas. Tiene aplicación en acumuladores, en construcción y cableado, en dispositivos eléctricos y electroquímicos en general, así como en recubrimientos electrocrómicos, inhibidores de la corrosión y en catálisis y electrocatálisis.
