Abstract
Péptido capaz de inducir anticuerpos contra la subunidad KA1 de los receptores de kainato de mamíferos, anticuerpo policlonal contra dicha subunidad KA1 y un procedimiento para su obtención. El péptido comprende una secuencia de aminoácidos derivada del extremo carboxilo de la secuencia de aminoácidos constitutiva de una subunidad KA1 de un receptor de kainato en un mamífero que (i) está altamente conservada entre al menos dos homólogos de la subunidad KA1 de distintas especies de mamífero, y (ii) no comparte una homología importante con otras sub- unidades pertenecientes al subtipo de receptores de kainato pertenecientes a la familia de receptores de glutamato. Los anticuerpos policlonales pueden obtenerse por inmunización de animales con dichos péptidos y purificación del antisuero por afinidad frente al péptido inmunizante inmovilizado. Estos anticuerpos son útiles para localizar la subunidad KA1 en tejidos, particularmente en cerebros normales y patológicos. De aplicación en Investigación básica y clínica (Neuropatología).Peptide capable of inducing antibodies against the KA1 subunit of mammalian kainate receptors, polyclonal antibody against said KA1 subunit and a method for obtaining it. The peptide comprises an amino acid sequence derived from the carboxyl end of the amino acid sequence constituting a KA1 subunit of a kainate receptor in a mammal that (i) is highly conserved between at least two homologues of the KA1 subunit of different mammalian species , and (ii) does not share an important homology with other sub-units belonging to the subtype of kainate receptors belonging to the glutamate receptor family. Polyclonal antibodies can be obtained by immunization of animals with said peptides and purification of the antiserum by affinity against the immobilized immunizing peptide. These antibodies are useful for locating the KA1 subunit in tissues, particularly in normal and pathological brains. Application in Basic and Clinical Research (Neuropathology)
