Abstract

Mössbauer spectrometer (Figure 1) comprising the following basic components: a preferably multi-layered piezoelectric oscillator which can be controlled by means of a variable voltage and which is synchronised by opening and closing the channels of the multi-channel analyser a radiation source, preferably <57>Co, rigidly attached to the piezoelectric oscillator a detection system comprising one or more solid state detectors such as silicon (Si) or cadmium telluride (CZT) detectors with a detection element of the order of 3x3x2 mm a system for amplification and management of the data recorded, including the multi-channel analyser which must be synchronised with the electrical function that controls the piezoelectric oscillator.
