Medio de cultivo selectivo para actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans. Comprende al menos una base nutritiva, preferentemente BHIA, vancomicina, formato, fumarato y extracto de levadura. No comprende sangre ni suero. Es un medio de cultivo de bajo coste, permite una elevada recuperación de Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans y es altamente restrictivo para el crecimiento de microorganismos contaminantes. Se aplica para la detección de Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans en muestras de cualquier procedencia, preferentemente en muestras orales y para el diagnóstico y seguimiento de pacientes afectados por enfermedades periodontales o sistémicas causadas por Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans.Selective culture medium for actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans. It comprises at least one nutritional base, preferably BHIA, vancomycin, format, fumarate and yeast extract. It does not include blood or serum.
