Abstract

Independent device for electronic certification of time that assigns date and reliable time to data in electronic format without connection over any communications network to a certified time authority and characterised by being transportable and connectable to any generator / archive system of data in electronic format. It basically consists of a series of physically protected elements (8) such as a micro-controller (1) within which the necessary software (2) operates, a memory (3), a real time clock (4) on which the process will be based, a communications port (5) and the necessary power supply (6) and (7) for its operation. It is applicable in all those environments where data in electronic format is generated or processed, such as public administration, banking, electronic commerce etc. and generally wherever an input and output log exists.<IMAGE>
