Abstract

The set of high thermal stability polycondensation copolymers comprises copolyesters based on bis(hydroxyethyl) terephthalate containing 5-50 per cent (mole/mole) of bis(hydroxyethyl) 5-nitro isophthalate and titanium tetrabutoxide catalyst. Their vitreous transition points and melting points are 79-87 and 231-243 degreesC respectively. EMBODIMENT - The copolymers have mean molecular weights of 4400 to 10500.
