Abstract
The invention concerns a method of cooling contaminated fluids by means of a cooling device which has a pressureless heat-exchanger and indirectly cools via cooling brine, walls (22) in the pressureless environment being sprayed with the contaminated fluid. The rear transfer faces of the walls (22) are cooled to the desired temperature by means of cooling brine from a single-phase fluid, the contaminated fluid and cooling brine each being sprayed through spray nozzles (20) onto the respective surface and collected in corresponding sumps (24, 26).
