Abstract

Improved abrasive disc. It is especially designed to be applied to automatic cutting machines in quarries, securing the output axis of the motor element that crosses its axial hole. It is composed of numerous independent elements or exchangeable segments (2) fixed to the periphery of its circular core (1) which is made of steel or a similar metal. These abrasive segments (2) are regularly distributed along the periphery, leaving empty spaces between them to improve the cut. The anchoring is performed using bolts that pass through the holes on a peripheral indent (4) of the metal core (1) and the abrasive segments (2) have slender pins in the form of a dovetail that are situated in the equivalent hollow spaces wrought between some first plates (6) placed in said peripheral indentation of the metal core (1) the pins are covered and fixed with some second superimposed plates (9), which are also equipped with holes for passing the bolts. This permits obtaining a considerable functional safety of the disc since the segments are secured to the steel core so that, when cutting, they can never be fly off from the disc.
