Abstract

The device comprises a pulsed light source (1), two inteferential filters (3, 7), optical fibres (4, 6) conducting light to the phosphorescence and light sensors (5, 8), an amplifier (9) for the signal from the light sensor, and a processor (10) for the amplified signal. A portable fibre optic device for measuring phosphorescence life at ambient temperature comprises a pulsed light source with its own power supply (2), two inteferential filters, a bundle of optical fibres with one fibre (4) conducting light to the phosphorescence sensor (5) and the other (6) to the light sensor (8), an amplifier for the detected light signal, and a processor for the amplified signal.
