Abstract

Cardiac rhythm measuring device using optical methods and assisted by a computer for remote diagnostics. This invention consists of a device capable of automatically measuring cardiac rhythms. Equipped with the correct software it can capture said information and display it either as a numeric value or in graphical format, as well as printing the results and regularly recoding set parameters, thus making it possible to assess cardiac pathologies. It is also possible to send all the information to separate equipment to undertake remote diagnostics. Measurement is done using non-invasive, optical means using a pair of photo resistant LEDs. The parameter that is analysed is the light transmitted through a patient's finger and photo resistance is the amount taken to transform the light transmitted into an electrical signal. Furthermore there is the advantage of it being used both by medicinal professionals and the patients themselves thanks to its easy use, as well as the fact that it can be used for remote diagnostics if necessary.
