Abstract

A process is presented, together with a device for carrying it out, and these are able to detect and validate barcodes produced with watermarks in any type of security document, and especially in banknotes, all the aforesaid with the use of optical and electronic means. Use is made of samples of paper from which standard signals are obtained and these are taken as reference for subsequent comparison with the signal read from the document to be validated.
