Abstract

A flat joint sealing assembly intended to be fastened flat to a support 2 comprises a seal 3 of visco-elastic material including in transverse section and in the unstressed state an inner heel 3a to the sides of which are linked flanks 3b, 3c having edges 3d which define a support plane for contact with the support 2, in front of and at a distance from the base 3e of the heel 3a, and a sealing lip 3f projecting obliquely from and above the heel 3a and at least one metallic fastener comprising a single longitudinal wing generally perpendicular to the support plane of the seal and capable of being formed or deformed in accordance with any appropriate curvature, clips 4b distributed over the length of the wing defining a seat within which the heel 3a of the seal is crimped, and means 4g for anchoring the fastener to the support. The assembly may also include a metallic end fastener (5, Fig 3) comprising an elongated base with clips at each side for crimping over the heel and means at one end for attaching to the support and a bar (6, Fig 4) for abutting the seal ends and comprising a base with clips at each side for crimping over the heel ends.
