Abstract

The apparatus includes a box like housing (1) accommodating a semiconductor disk (14) which has a positive temperature coefficient and serves as a heat source. The seating (4) for this disk is located in an off-centre position on the bottom of the housing. The central free region of the bottom incorporates a window (18). The aluminium plate (16) functioning as a heat radiator has hole (19) at a point opposite to the window. This hole snugly accommodates a wick in cases where the active substance to be evaporated is a liquid in a container with a wick. Substances in tablet form can be placed directly against the outer surface of the aluminium plate.
